About Me

 

it all started in 2009, august to be specific. I was in this magical country namely Turkey, everywhere I go one cannot miss an astonishing scene. Than it clicks if I only could bring these scene to life with photos/memory. Before I know it I have my home studio and three cameras and various type of lenses. Go figure!

 

My name is Salim Al-Harthy, although I love taking pictures of various categories, ranging from Macro all the way to wild life, but what really gives me the kick is travel & landscape, simply because it changes constantly with the light, places, seasons and the weather. You can take a photo a certain scene and take the same scene the next day and have this different outcome all together, fascinating really!

 

I have a set a target for myself, that I would visit a total of 40 country in five years time, thats an average 7 countries a year. So I guess I better get started

 

Life is short, what remains at the end are memory and photography is basically a tool to discover the wonders of this so called planet of ours.

My Equipment

 

I currently use - As a main body :

 

Nikon D3S, which is 12MPX DSLR together with Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8 Nano, Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 Nano, Nikon 70-200 f/2.8 Telephoto, Nikon 105mm Macro and my favorite, Nikon 50mm, f/1.4

Some of my older stock is taken with : Nikon D90

 

For Studio/Flash Photography, I use Two GEM400 Light Strobes with SB900 & SB600 Flash Gun with SEKONIC 358 flash meter

 

  

  

None of my photos are HDR or blended images, they are taken from just one shot unless stated otherwise. All my photos are under full copyright and any downloading, blogging, unauthorized use and or distribution of any image, will be dealt within the boundaries of the laws that protect these images.
