An Architect by profession, and a photography enthusiast, I do not like to restrict myself to a specific genre though I find myself partial towards street photography and travel photography in as much as it deals with people and cultures.
Some of my favorite photographs are candid shots of people. I enjoy watching moods & emotions play out on people's faces during the course of an ordinary day. Does that metaphorically make me a voyeur. I'm not too sure.
In describing myself I am reminded of a quote by JRR Tolkien in Lord of the rings
"All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost."
- The Lord of the Rings, J.R.R. Tolkien
This reminds me that the obvious, the surface of things is just that... the surface. This reminds me to look beyond the face of things and see what is generally hidden, by what could be called a social parallax.
I attempt to do this with the following kit
Nikon D90
Nikon D80
AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR
AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR II
AF NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8D
Tamron AF70-300mm F/4-5.6 Di LD Macro Zoom
Nikkor Speedlight SB-600
A couple of Close up lenses, CPLs, a Gorillapod, A Tripod.
My immediate wishlist.
AF-S NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8G ED
