First picked up a camera and fell in love with shooting in the 4th grade. In a politically incorrect move that would probably have HazMat crews showing up today, my elementary school had a darkroom and I took to that as well. Though my interest in photography eventually led me to film school in Boston and a long career in and around the entertainment industry in California, most of my gear was stolen in the late 80's and I largely gave up shooting for years...save for simple "capture the moment" shots with a point-and-shoot.
Two things have conspired of late to reawaken my interest in photography. One is Flickr, which obviously makes it tremendously easy to organize and share, and the other is the quality and now relative affordability of digital SLR equipment. My skills are pretty rusty, and I'm humbled by a lot of the talent I see around Flickr, but its fun to rediscover something that has long meant so much to me.
Cameras & Lenses:
Nikon D300 (finally graduated to a real 'grown up' DSLR)
Nikon D70s (my first DSLR)
Nikon N60 (retired)
Canon FTb (fantastic vintage manual SLR. this was the camera I learned on, and it still has a thing or two to teach me)
Canon PowerShot SD870 IS (great tiny camera for situations where you just can't take an SLR. To my surprise, this has become my main camera)
Canon PowerShot SD550 (retired)
Nikon 18-200MM F/3.5-5.6 G ED-IF AF-S VR DX (versatile digital lens with vibration reduction)
Nikon 50mm f/1.8D AF (very fast lens, though it shoots closer to a 70mm on digital)
Canon 50mm f1.8 (old school manual lens for old school manual camera)
