Hi, I'm Aaron.

Photography has always been a passion of mine. I first fell in love with 35mm film photography in high school. I was able to take a class which taught me the very basics of shooting, developing and printing black and white images.

In college I continued to study photography. My first DSLR was a 12 megapixel Canon (which I though was AMAZING in 2008) that did enough to get me by. After switching majors to journalism, photography kind of took a back seat for quite some time.

After leaving college and starting out in the "real world", I practically never even picked up a camera. My mother, who loves to take photos on weekends, kept begging me to join her on a small trip for some pictures at an old cave. Begrudgingly I agreed, and boy, am I glad I took that trip. I had all but forgotten the art of 35mm photography and practically needed a crash course on how to use the latest digital cameras.

But here I am, back to taking photos left and right. Practically any chance I can get. I mostly enjoy landscapes, architecture, bodies of water, black and white images and pets (dogs) but realistically I will focus on anything that catches my eye. I am noticeably producing better quality images each day I pick up a camera, that's good news ;) A few years ago, after several life changing events and the need to start fresh, I realized that photography never left me, it just took a vacation! Thanks to a handful of generous people, and pets, willing to give me their time and patience, I picked my camera back up and was able to realize not only could I make something with my camera, rather I could finally begin an occupation I love.

Photography is an art and also a way of life. There's no greater feeling than submerging yourself into a subject, trying to get a true and profound understanding of what you are about to capture. Still images are meant to catch the eye, to give the beholder an opportunity to, just for a moment, be in that backdrop. In many ways, images are a lot like lyrics to a song … It should have a different meaning for each person, a different interpretation. I hope photography moves you the way it moves me. I love feedback and criticism is always a good thing, I'm always striving to improve. I hope you enjoy these photos!
