Bought my first SLR (Pentax MZ-5) in 1998 when I was living and working in London (1998-2002). It tool great pics of my travels around UK, Europe and the US but I never had the knowledge to use it beyond glorified point-and-shoot.

First switch to digital was with a Nikon Coolpix 995 back in 2002. First DSLR (Nikon D50) in Feb 2006 for the Melbourne Commonwealth games - excuse for a DSLR =D Again using it as point-and-shoot. Finally in late 2006 my wife sent me to a 13 week photography course as a birthday present... the best present I ever got! Now I shoot with a Nikon D300s :) How I wish I had this back in 1998 when I was travelling all around Europe!
