Drag to set position!
The Australians Archaeological Institute at Athens exists to support Archaeology, Classical Studies and Hellenic Studies. We are one of the 17 Foreign Schools in Athens and work from our headquarters at the University of Sydney, when not digging, researching and teaching from our offices and hostel in Greece.
We support key Mediterranean archaeological projects including:
Torone - The excavations on the Lekythos of Torone in the Chalkidike
Zagora - the Early Iron Age site of Zagora (10th century BC - ca.700 BC), located on the Greek island of Andros
Kythera (APKAS) - The Australian Paliochora-Kythera Archaeological Survey in Kythera
Paphos - The Theatre excavation at Nea Paphos in Cyprus
