If you’ve heard about that dwarfed tucked away dot on the map called Lebanon, (I guess it would ring a bell if I said, it’s cited above Palestine); well, that’s where I come from. It was once known as the Switzerland of the Middle East, a land of mountains, money, and many cultures, all of which somehow miraculously managed to live together in harmony. At least that’s always what the picture-postcard view showed.
Now, after the country had been in the grip of civil war since 1975 till 1985 against Israel (the cold war remains till now), I wish to give Lebanon that name again. Somehow, it’s in a photographer’s capability to change shootouts right down the street, to a color festival.
I neither wish to spread patriotism or nationalism for the Beiruti people, my only desire is to show as many people the pulsing beauty, here, in Lebano!
