I decided to change my screen name today. I had to think of something besides AY Jackson since I borrowed his name some time ago and really didn't think I would be using it that long (but time flies when you are having fun). Flickr has been changing things around lately, so I thought I may as well add to the general confusion by changing my flickr name. The new name doesn't have any particular significance, just that it was available and doesn't look too bad. Please, no jokes about being at large.

Know that I have lived in Brantford, Ontario for a long time now, so many of my pictures were taken in Brantford and the Brantford area.

Many of my pictures involve nature but know that I have no particular training in identifying plants, birds, insects or fungi. I do my best working from books and the internet and you can put some confidence in easily identified species but some of the identifications are a bit tricky - for example different flycatchers. Any help you can offer regarding identification is welcome.

Some pictures are here because I think they are attractive. Some are not attractive but are the first time I have seen a particular species or even the first time I have seen a species in a particular locale.
