About me...

I was born on Christmas day in 1959. I started photography in high school - my dad bought me a brand new Canon EF (it was one of the first Aperature Priority Camera's) for the photography class I took. I loved taking pictures and I loved the new camera smell! Over the years I drifted away from "serious" photoography somewhat, but eventually bought a digital camera for the sake of convenience. It was a POS (Point And Shoot) Olympus 3020 and it took pretty decent photos's, but I soon grew out of it and wanted a more serious camera again. Now I am the happy owner of a Canon 40D with a smalll arsenal of lenses, flashes, umbrella's and various other gadgets to feed my reborn love of photography (and I still have my EF).

I like photographing nouns: people, places, and things, as you can tell by my photographs (if you are so inclined to check them out), and I have an interest in macro photography.

I participate in several photography forums and are always eager to learn how to sharpen my skills, so if you happen to look at my pictures, I would welcome your comments and suggestions.

As you will see, I also enjoy cycling and playing the guitar, both willing subjects of my other end of my lenses.See some of my guitar photos in the Guitar Love group

I am married to my beautiful wife, Rita Irene Mauro.
