Hello my name is Michael Mercure. I was born in Rhode Island at Woonsocket Hospital on 11/18/54. I grew up in Franklin, Massachusetts, and am now living back in Rhode Island. My first camera was a Christmas gift from my parents in the late 60's--a Kodak Hawkeye 126 instamatic. Next was a Polaroid--those were interesting photos! Then, in my 35mm days, I used a Minolta SRT201. Next was a Minolta X700, which brings us to today. I am using a Canon EOS Rebel T1i. My standard everyday lens is a Canon 18mm-135mm

When I was in my mid 20's, I was known by my family as the "family photographer"; I was asked to photograph my Grandparents' 50th anniversary, and my aunt's & uncle's anniversaries. I would always have my camera with me on vacations, dates, or just a visit with friends & family. I love shooting almost anything, but my main interest is night photography. I will photograph almost any subject from waterfalls, lighthouses, covered bridges, rusting trucks,night shots, butterflies, oh yeah trains also. What I have been known to say is "My favorite subject is what I am shooting now" Thank you for reading this, and thank you for any comments on my photos. Also, thanks for viewing my photostream.
