when I take a photo I don’t just look to capture an image that appears beautiful to me. I strive to encapsulate a story, a tradition, a lifetime, or a representation of a culture. A photograph should be regarded in the same way a culture should, with an open mind and an expectation to learn something from it. A photograph is more than just a still frame, and more than just a memory. It represents more than what meets the eye; like a good piece of literature, it’s more than just a surface reading. There is always a deeper, underlying truth hidden within a remarkable photograph making it worth a thousand words. Everything in this world is based off of perspective and what emotions it invokes in you when you become lost in it. The beauty that is captured in a photograph, unlike most things around us, is not transitory. The image lasts forever, like a memory forever engraved in your mind. The only difference is that it never alters over time. Time is irrelevant when it comes to a photograph because no matter how much time passes, the memories of that moment and the emotions that were experienced will always remain the same.
I hope you enjoy my work, feedback is always welcomed.
