If Robert were a baseball player (as was Honus) he would be the guy you go to the game to see. Not the long ball hitter but a place-hitter who gets the job done and whom you can count on in a clutch. Without a doubt the guy who begins and ends his career on the same team. IMO his photography shows a good conscious effort to look at and show the world around him in a straight-forward but well defined way that hints at depth rather than digging it up and throwing it in your face. No sensationalism, no major attempt at creating the most striking image of the year that some would-be photogs seem intent on creating, usually ending up with silly cloned images. I am sure Robert loves the world around him and the people too, the normal people, the real people...people like him. Hats off to Robert and also a personal thanks for his kindness, sympathetic ear and good, objective advice and input when these were asked for.
