I am just a beginner. I have been using an Olympus fe-240 for a year. Just got a Canon SX10 and am just practicing with it now. (February 2009)

Update - I love this camera. it has a 20x optical zoom with a 4x digital zoom. That gives it the capacity for 80x zoom! It is very easy to use witha lot of shooting mode options. I am still learning but I love this camera!! (October 2009)

Update - I just purchased a Nikon D40 and am trying to learn the manual settings but sometimes I give up and resort to P mode!!! I am not giving up my SX10 by any means!!!, but would really like to learn about DSLR photography and artistic control with the manual settings. (November 2009)

I welcome comments and critiques as long as it is constructive/instructive and not destructive :-), above all, I want to learn to be better. Although I deplore flashy comment codes and large graphics, I love small comment codes that indicate where you encountered my photo (even with a small graphic).

I am finding I look at things with a new eye. Everything looks like a photo opportunity. I want to tell the stories of the images that speak to me.

Oh yeah, being born 7/16/1952 I am a) a "Baby Boomer" b) a "crab" and a "Moon Child". Having been a teen in the '60s I am also a flower child. Ha!

Please bear with me as I experiment and try new things. Some work...some don't!!
