I used to be a photographer in the sense that I saw pictures in place of the real things surrounding me. I did that because I dislike reality but I love its image. "Photography is a lie embracing the truth" - this quotation, maybe or maybe not by Nobuyoshi Araki, says all one needs to know. I don't care where I take my pictures, in my mind or in my camera. I don't mind how fast I forget them or how long they stay with me. I could not care less how subjective or universal they are. The only thing I really want is that they touch me. This is an ideal on the one hand and I rarely am able to live up to it. On the other hand there are no photos I take that are not statements of my personality. This is a private thing. I'm not afraid anyone would notice because most people don't care to see. And those who do, I do not mind whatever they may discover. I know they are gentle and free.

I have NEVER read a profile, or the word in it, respectively the meaning of them, that touched me more, that went to the core more than the ones above. That is not meant selfishly, but just like you said - i couldn't care less.
