For as long as I can remember I have been fascinated with photography. I remember my Dad fumbling with the flip flashes and flash cubes. I was amazed at how the black and white Polaroid’s worked. For years I had a pocket 110 that met all of my needs.

While in the Navy, around 1979, I purchased my first 35mm SLR camera. It was a Pentax ME Super. Now I was really hooked. I shot flight deck operations on two aircraft carriers, and most of my exploits cruising Europe, South America, Africa, and Australia. Sadly, while the stories remain most of those images (sometimes called evidence) are gone.

My wife and I have lived in Alaska for over 30 years. This is a target rich environment for a photographer. In 2007 I purchased my first Digital SLR camera. At this point we were also preparing for retirement. So we started Blushing Moose Photography. We combined our love of travel and nature with my passion for photography.

I have a studio set up in my home. I do not do portraiture. I play with light. I enjoy shooting macro and experimenting with UVIVF and other light sources.

My wife and I retired for the last time in 2018. We still live in Alaska and are always looking for more travel time.
