I love gardening, flowers, photography, great food, and the ocean. My passion for gardening lead me to the creation of Silk Flowers By Jean, to make a lasting silk bouquet that could be treasured for a lifetime.

I have been an avid gardner for the last 25 years, and have brought my passion for perenniels, annuals, and herbs into my silk designs. I not only use silks, but some naturally preserved flowers in my creations as well, one of my favorites being the yellow billy button. I lived in Upstate NY for 15 years near Ithaca, and moved back to my hometown New Bern NC near the Coast a few years ago leaving behind 15 years and 10 acres of perenniels, it was a difficult move but the bridal creations have breathed a new life into me, giving me a new direction once again, and I love it. I love helping the bride or groom come up with the right flower, the right color, I love getting photos of the designs, and seeing the final results, the wedding photos. I love the signifigance of the wedding or the ceremonies the new beginning and being a small part of the couples new journey together.

And most of all, It has been wonderful to reconnect with my mom, after living so far away with my family for over 20 years. She and I work together on the creations and it has given her a new purpose. She is my ribbon lady, and there is not a bow that she can't tie. My youngest daughter when home from college, and my husband also assist as needed running packages, and sorting flowers they have both been a tremendous help.
