Wild about wildlife. My interest started when I was a toddler. My parents told me I was always looking under bricks and stones in the garden, to see what was hiding there. About this time I dismantled a bee hive to see what was inside, they say I was stung about eighty times. I noticed many large, black birds, flying overhead, and wondered what they were. I was given a book on world wildlife, and thought these birds were vultures at that time.

When I was a young teenager, I bought my first book on birds of Britain, and then corrected the black birds as rooks.

About this time I was interested in freshwater fishing, which helped me get close to certain wildlife.

In my late teens I had my first SLR camera with a 300mm telephoto lens, and enjoyed doing close up shots as well. My passion for all kinds of wildlife will be with me all of my life.
