I only took up serious photography in 2018 at the age of 80. Being quite severely deficient in colour vision, I have almost abandoned colour photography for black and white. I really struggle with the former and usually have to get help from friends. For example, I cannot see red, so a golden sunrise or sunset without red looks as good to me as one with red, whereas those with normal colour vision would much prefer the latter. Autumn colours and red blossoms are wasted on me. I only post colour photos which have been vetted by others, particularly my valued friend, Kevin. I feel quite at home with black and white.
I am feeling my way with my photography. My work is steadily improving. I've had to learn which areas of photography I'm most suited to. I have spent time on areas which I've now discarded and my interests seem to be in architecture, form, shape, texture, light and street. I want to do more low light and long exposure work.
