New Ikon, more accurately reflects my increasingly senile (or more mature) state of mind.

Ancient (88), computer-illiterate, almost legless and less than half-witted.

Twice taken, very happily for a total of 56 years, and twice a widower. Now well past my "sell by".

26 years flying in the R.A.F., and then youth worker in Scotland.

This motley collection of photos, ancient and modern, makes no claim to photographic quality; I include them only because they please my own eye and because they remind me of people, places and things which I have loved or found interesting.

One of the good things about growing old is that you find the time and inclination just to stand and stare - and to try to record in photographs the lovely things you see.

And you can be as stupid as you like - it's only what they expect of you !

As from August '08, I drive no more. Photo opportunities now are limited to what birds offer through the bothy windows.

Harry is a star - no other words for it. I look forward to his photos.. and indeed to his comments on both his own, others and my photos because you can always sense a wee twinkle in his eye when he writes.

Harry has been an inspiration to me since I joined Flickr in March 2007. He was one of my very first contacts and has always been amongst the first to make comments on my photostream. He unashamedly makes no apology for any quality that may lack in his photos because, like he says, he includes them only because they please his own eye and because they remind him of people places and things that he loves. Though I have never met him in person, I believe he is a very genuine and caring person which reflects in all his photos. He is, what I call, a true photographer because he photographs any subject with his heart. I hope and pray that when I reach Harry's age, I will also be able to capture such beautiful photos and take from them the joy that he does. Great photos Harry that share your love of Scotland with the rest of the world. Leone XXX
