I have a general interest in nature and the often un-noticed creatures, that pass us by most of the time.

I try to put a name to the plants and animals that I find, and have recently taken an interest in bees. I discovered there are around 270 species in the UK, and was surprised to find how small some can be. I'm not keen on pinning insects, and have to rely on photographs, so it's not always possible to id everything.

I'm happy to hear from anyone who can help with an ID, as I'll not always get it right. I'm also a keen birder, and sometimes take trips to see some of the rarer arrivals.
