Having worked in the commercial world for many years, in 2003 I made my 'life style change' and decided that I wanted to put something back into the conservation world for all the pleasure it had given me. Following a period managing the National Trust's coast and countryside sites across Kent, I now live in Aberdeenshire.
My interest in photography has been a bit of a rollercoaster in terms of enthusiasm and output over the years, with a heavy emphasis on motorbike racing during the 80's and 90's as I followed and helped my close friend Trevor Stafford around the country at race meetings. The advent of digital photography enhanced my interest once more and I am now seldom found without a camera about my person. Less than 2% of my output finds its way onto Flickr and even less onto my web site. I mainly photograph what interests me, but the occasional themed competition does help to focus ones thinking. In 2008 I won the National Trust Staff Photographer of the Year competition which was hugely satisfying.
My other interest is anything connected with the outdoors. My love of mountains in this country and abroad has led to some interesting adventures.
