Essentially German (the very South-West corner of Germany), I have now chosen New Zealand as my new home.

Apart from snapping holiday shots, I started photography as a real hobby through a black-and-white printing course - actually in order to meet new people. It grew from there, and in addition to my analog Canon EOS 300 (used solely for b/w film now), I bought a Canon EOS 400D in 2007. There's a lot of freedom in digital photography (e.g. discard what you don't like)...

I do struggle a bit to find the time (and often motivation) to go and take more photos.
