1: How long have you been involved in photography?

I guess since 2011 when a bought a Canon point and shoot. I never really owned a camera before that...

 

2: Equipment you use?

For travel and casual photography I use a combination of Nikon Df or Nikon FM3a with two or three of the following lenses:

Voigtländer Color-Skopar 28mm f/2.8

Voigtländer Ultron 40mm f/2

Voigtländer Noct 58mm f/1.4

Voigtländer APO-Lanthar 90mm f/3.5

Nikon 105mm f/2.5 AIS

Nikon 135mm f/3.5 AIS

Nikon 200mm f/4 AIS

 

For special projects (landscape or portraits) I use a Nikon D810 with any of these:

Tokina 16-28mm f/2.8

Tamron SP 45mm f/1.8 VC

Nikon 105mm f1.4E

Nikon 300mm f/4.5 ED-IF AIS

 

For macro, hiking, action, and everyday carry I use a Nikon Z50 with:

Nikon AF 105mm f/2.8D Micro

Nikon Z DX 16-50mm f/3.5-6.3 VR

Nikon Z DX 50-250mm f/4.5-6.3 VR

 

Additionally, I have a Semflex 4.5 TLR at a French flea market, so I've been tinkering around with it and 120 film

 

3: Mac or PC?

MacBook pro.

 

4: What inspires you?

Without a doubt in my mind: Travel. Photography inspires me to travel at the same time. The thought of going to a new place and wondering what I might be able to photograph, excites me like nothing else. If I don't travel, I have a much harder time finding inspiration to take pictures.

 

5: Preferred subject matter?

I try not to specialize on anything, and try different techniques and types of photography as often as I can.

 

6: Name one thing you haven't caught with the camera that you REALLY want to capture.

Maybe more landscapes, but portraits seem to be my weakness... I don't know how to make models pose, and there are a ton of things to take into consideration... especially if I am using flashes.

 

7: When in doubt about your art, who do you confide in?

I used to go to my Sensei Bo, but he doesn't take pictures no more...

 

8: Qualifications/training in anything? ie: Photoshop

Self taught. Some people have given me tips here and there, but for the most part I watch videos on youtube or read articles.

 

9: Plans for the future?

Take pictures? I can't do this as a full time hobby, so I have to find the time.

 

10: In one word, describe your photography.

I wish I could. I don't even think I have a "style". I only post a fraction of my pictures... the ones that I seem to like the most. I don't have many followers so I don't have to please an audience. I simply enjoy the art, and I just want to be able to take interesting pictures. I don't ever want to be professional photographer, so I can continue to enjoy it. Hopefully I keep growing and my skills improve over time.
