Update July 2023

Its been a few years since I last posted an update here, so here goes.

Basically my same posting philosophy. Open but at the same time mostly just between friends and other allies in the bigger community.

Side Note: I do wish there was an additional level of markings/grouping. See example below.

Open: Posted photos fully viewable by public. (any viewer, even those outside of Flickr)

Followers: Photos viewable by folks you have accepted as followers, ie different from just anyone who would click the follow bottom, ie people who would have to be part of your followers list, but not necessary everyone on that list.

Friends: People who you are really sort of friends with, ie chat or have had discussions with, people you might consider meeting or inviting to your home.

Family: Family or close friends, people who you have had visit or would if they lived closer by, Friends who might really know you personally.

My "Followers" marking would be to allow one to have a more open settings, but still have some control over what "just anyone" can see, sort of like letting someone up to your doorway, but not all the way into your home. I think it would cut down on unwanted stalker types, since it would require you to accept their "following" request to see the additionally marked photos.

Just an idea. (You listening Flickr?)

I hope everyone is doing well otherwise, the world has been a crazy place. I do wish more people would pay attention to or recognize the dangers the rise of the extremist right has brought.

I didn't think the world was perfect before, but the level of political violence in recent years has been alarming. The MAGA GOP types seem to think the Second Amendment somehow allows them to use guns or the threat of that type of violence to get their political will. Like it says its OK and Legal to use or display their guns to threaten others to their way of thinking.

No, that is terrorism and not supported by any reading of the Second Amendment.

Update July 2020

As I stated before most of my photostream and the discussions surrounding my activities are just going to remain mostly between me and my friends, but if you are a friendly, thoughtful member of the community that might easily include you.

But I do reserve my rights to refuse service to those who fall outside of my personal comfort zone.

Please Be Well and stay safe in this crazy COVID19 world we all live in right now. I have confidence that this will someday pass, just not anytime soon. : (

Update Nov 2018

As I stated before, I’ve decided to move most of my photos to a "Friends" or "Family" level.

While I’m an open and friendly person, I’ve just decided that at least some of my photo stream is more personal than public and that is just the way it is.

I do wish everyone the Best on your own personal journeys, but I think mine will be a bit more private going forward.
