Photography has been my passion for 50 years now. My father bought me my first camera when I was 12 and then taught me how to develop and print black and white photographs. From what I've seen on Flickr, I consider myself to be an amateur. There are so many beautiful images to view.

Over the years I've owned: a simple box camera, a 35 mm Balda manual camera, a Polaroid Pronto instant camera, a vintage Kodak camera made circa 1920, a Canon EOS Elan IIE film camera, a Panasonic DMC LS2 5 MP digital, and now a Canon 400D and Canon A810 point and shoot 16 MP.

My father died many years ago and if he'd had the chance to use my newest point and shoot he'd have been thrilled with what it does. MOVIES!!

Flickr hosts many creative talents. I've been involved in a photography contest website and found it to be very stifling. Flickr is all encompassing.
