I am a retired hospitalist (worked from 1973-2014) and have taken photographs since my trip to Washington D.C. as a "senior trip" in high school in 1964 or 65. Those pictures were snapshots in black and white, and most are lost... My first real foray was a hitchhiking trip I made with a friend from Des Moines to Yellowstone and back in 1971. That camera was a Kodak Instamatic that did use 35 mm film, and the trip is memorialized in fuzzy color snaps. My first "real camera" was a Pentax SP 1000 that was apparently one of the first cameras with a built in automatic/electric light meter. I was hooked. But for the most part, I still take snapshots. Only a few of my attempts could really be considered "photographs." But I persist. A huge per cent of my pictures are curated with Photoshop Elements on my Macintosh computer.
