Coco Irene is the latest line from a Chicago duo who took their love of vintage movies and contemporary clothing and carved out an unfussy, effortless and completely unique look.

Creative Director and Designer Veronica Sheaffer previously designed ‘70s-inspired apparel under the label Bionica Fashions in NYC and also creates handbags and accessories for her own Veronica Sheaffer Designs (vsheafferdesigns.etsy.com). Taryn Parker, Operations Director and Designer, brings experience in finance with a focus in small business. Together, Parker and Sheaffer create clothing that blends feminine fashion with edgy individualism. Parker brings the business brain to Coco Irene, while Sheaffer’s fashion background drives the look.

A late-night sewing circle early in Coco Irene’s inception was the spark for the line’s name: Sheaffer felt that her grandmother Irene’s name typified a timeless quality, while Parker joked that cocoa and vanilla summed up the duo’s skin tones. As simple as that, Coco Irene just stuck.
