Retired automotive engineer with a passion for photography. Love to get out and explore. Love the dynamics of being in motion. Planes, trains, and automobiles - as they say - plus motorcycles and boats too! Video is very popular with some, but I prefer a really good still image. You can stare at a still images for ages and take in every detail, even go away and when you come back still get joy in staring at it again.
Early on I shot a lot of people portraits, especially street portraits - kind of like street photography but with the permission of the subject. I have been getting back into that a bit recently along with a return to film photography with a Yashica D tlr, and a Nikon F. Growing up I recall my big brother shooting with a Yashica D. He was 10 years older than me. I presume it was a hand-me-down from my dad, when my dad bought his first Nikon F. I have a picture of my brother at Canada's Expo '67 with that Nikon around his neck. The serial number on the Nikon suggests it was from 1966. I also still have the 105mm f2.5 lens that was my favorite of dad's collection of lenses for the F.
I cover many events under my business name Strungfoto. Check out the "Albums" tab above to see my photography grouped by events or themes. If you see images you would like to purchase a full file size version of, and without the watermark, please contact me at larry.strung@me.com
