I joined years ago to follow a photographer/friend who finally encouraged me to buy my first camera and it was all over, I'm obsessed. Problem is, I live in a small town in SE Oklahoma where there are not alot of resources, no camera shops, clubs or classes. I've recently upgraded my camera and have really became interested in textures. I don't know Photoshop and there's no classes nearby so I use Lightroom to edit and then Picmonkey to add textures. It's a challenging prospect and I see all the wonderful creations from others whose work spurs me on. I love landscapes and birds, and have rarely met an old barn I didn't like. I've dabbled with portrait photography since the birth of my first grandbaby and have done some on the side but honestly, I don't feel comfortable with pricing of my work so I limit it to my close friends/family. There's a city nearby whose phonebook cover is one of my pictures and I've had several pictures published in magazines. There was no money involved but it made my day. I imagine my grown children one day going through my things after I die saying "why on earth would mom keep this magazine or phone book" not realizing the photo was one I took. Anyway, thanks for taking the time to visit and I hope you find something in my work that speaks to you.
