A railway photographer since 1981. At the age of 13 I saved £147 to buy my first SLR, a Nikon EM.

Based in Bristol, 1980’s BR blue was my favourite era, and class 40s were my favourite loco, due to their rarity in the south west.

I was too late to photograph the Westerns and Deltics, which I have fond memories of as a young boy during trips to London.

Living near the GWML, I covered this line extensively prior to and during electrification, and developed a fondness for HSTs.

I’ve always enjoyed sticking my head out of the window and spent many a happy hour breathing diesel fumes standing at the front window!
