"I can sleep with my eyes closed!"
My father took photos of us while we were young, I still have many of those slides.
We also had a film camera (maybe a Zenit?) back in school but my brother lost it on a summer vacation.
Then as a teenager I was fussing around with a Kodak APS film camera (you know, shooting H-C-P format within the camera) later on, I loved the concept and the outcome was OKish.
Many years later I bought a Canon PowerShot S3 IS - I captured some great moments with it.
Then in 2018 as I felt the calling to shoot black & white, I bought my Minolta XD7. Needless to say, I fell in love with the combo of the camera & the manual Minolta lenses. I even got an X-300 when I bought the 35-70 lens.
Some months later I bought an Olympus OM-D E-M5, which was then replaced by an Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mk II. This is my daily, the Minolta XD7 being the black&white and the Minolta X-300 the color film camera.
I mostly used manual lenses on my E-M5 Mk II - vintage Makinon, Minolta Rokkor, W. Rokkor and Celtic lenses (24, 28, 35-70, 50, 135), a vintage 90mm Tamron SP portrait lens and one 35mm CC-camera lens. But when I bought the Olympus 17mm Pro, I realised how easy it can be to shoot with autofocus on a vacation... so I've sold the fixed 17mm lens and bought instead the Olympus 12-40mm f2.8 Pro and sometime later also the Olympus 40-150mm f4-5.6R ED MSC. But even then, I do use the Olympus body cap lens from time to time as well.
In 2024 I've sold the E-M5 Mk II and since then I use the OM-1. I also have acquired additional lenses: the M.Zuiko Digital 60mm f2.8 Macro, the M.Zuiko Digital ED 7-14mm f2.8 Pro, the M.Zuiko Digital ED 75-300mm 1:4.8-6.7 II, the M.Zukio Digital 25mm f1.8 and the M.ZUIKO DIGITAL 45mm f1.8.
