My photographic journey started over 20 years ago when I inherited my father's old Pentax SLR camera. That was the start of a fun and exciting new passion that changed the way I viewed my world. In the years since, I have studied many styles of photography including portraiture, nature, abstract, and still life. I have also experimented with different processes and new technologies to further expand my understanding and appreciation for taking and making photographs. As my journey continues, I eagerly seek the next fun and exciting idea that I can present to the world.
As a teenager, long before I took a serious interest in photography, I constantly found myself drawn to popular culture images. I spent hours browsing coffee table books by famous photographers in the bookstores. Today, I'm still inspired by popular culture artwork. One day, I hope to add something of my own to this ever growing pool - whether it be an interesting portrait, a floral still life, a cool landscape, or something I haven't thought of yet.
I primarily use Flickr to share images with friends and family as well as showcase some of my professional work. I try to keep all of my work sorted into relevant sets. Casual snapshots should be easy to tell from my serious photographs.

For about 12 years, I shot with a Nikon D300 using a 50mm f/1.4 Nikkor prime lens. I recently upgraded to a Nikon D750, and I’m thrilled that I did. Full frame is where it’s at! I’m still shooting with the 50mm f/1.4 AFD lens and the 24mm f/2.8D and the 85mm f/1.8D Nikkor lenses for most of my work. In 2021, I sprung for the Sigma 15mm f/2.8 EX DG fisheye lens. I have also been experimenting with the vintage Helios 44-2 and the 44M-4 to try to achieve the swirly bokeh effect. This summer, I purchased a Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG lens, and I've been trying it out with beautiful results. I look forward to using it in more and more situations.

I always shoot everything in raw mode and I process using Lightroom Classic and Photoshop on a Macintosh.

I also shoot film from time to time. I enjoy taking fun shots with a Holga and I own a Nikon F3HP which works very nicely with my lens arsenal. I recently purchased a Minolta Hi-Matic 7s and I love the photos I get from this vintage camera.
Occasionally, I use a Canon A720IS point & shoot for casual snapshots.
