I live and work in London, where photography is a big part of my daily life. Why utak? When I was thinking of a user-name for posting photos and videos...I thought of utak….because in some languages utak means "brain". The camera/lens is like a brain for artistic endeavours. utak also has four letters from one of my most used lens brands - Takumar. My photographic passion is using old M42/M39 lenses, including Takumar, Carl Zeiss Jena, Helios, Tomioka, Yashica, Leitz, Fujinon, Pentacon and Meyer-Optik Gorlitz. Hope you enjoy my Photostream!

Your images are fantastic and been my reference for the possibilities inherent in dozens of vintage Asahi lenses. Time and time again, when researching old lenses that I was considering buying, I came across your images (in fact, it was probably your images that got me to consider buying them in the first place). Your artistry has led me to amass a considerable collection of the lenses you display here. Than you for sharing them with the world. Now if I could only produce a few images that rise to your standard I'd be even more satisfied. It clearly takes more than just the gear. Please keep up the flow of inspiration. Best regards.
