Born in Bournemouth, England, Educated at Grange Boys' Grammar School, Bradford, and Reading University

(French language and literature). Taught English in France for a year and never returned to UK. After creating an English language teaching, translation and interpreting business, spent the next 40 years observing and experience the things which cause the only similarity between French and English to be the colours of their flags.
