Hello, and welcome.
I am a London based photographer interested in most forms of photography. I am a relatively recent convert to digital photography and have always been sad at having to make the compromise between quality and convenience. I shoot pretty much everything from architecture and landscape to still life and travel, to figurative work.
People have asked me about my equipment and how I get the "look" I create in my images. As for the "look", I shoot most of my nudes/portraits in my home studio (generally against a black velvet backdrop) and I use anywhere between one and four flash units with soft-box attachments and umbrellas.

One of my first Flickr friends - many times through viewing his stream, Vincent's photos, he has taken my breath away. His use of lighting is extraordinary, and his ability to get the best from his subjects. I have been lucky enough to be photographed by Vincent. As a fellow photographer (but, very, very amateur), he was generous to give me advice and talk me through the shots he was taking - making me feel at ease, and giving me an opportunity to learn. With regard to giving technical advice, he has been on hand to offer me this several times, along with bags of encouragement to boot! What is refreshing is that Vincent has an ability and keen eye for photos that's not just dependent on expensive kit and studio work. I get enjoyment from his landscape work, the ongoing series of him exploring self expression in hotel rooms worldwide, his observations of life in the capital. There is a distinct "Vincentness" that is apparent through his varied disciplines. A charming man, he literally charmed the pants off me. Oh, and a bloody good cook too.
