So, yesterday was Fiona's 2nd Flickrversary. In those two years she has become something of a celebrity here, not just because she is an amazing photographer. Not just because she can evoke powerful emotions not only in her brilliant self portraits, but out of the clouds or the mountains or a beautiful vista. And, not just because she is a wonderfully supportive contact. I think that all these qualities are important, but the biggest reason Fi is so (deservedly) highly regarded is that she blends all her talent and personal beauty with the most kind and generous heart. I was blessed to find Fiona before most and have been transported by her photos, warmed by her praise and support and blessed to call her a friend. xox

I agree with all the comments given on her individual photographs and in the 22 previous testimonials posted here regarding her. Fiona's work is wonderful, haunting, emotional, full of energy and love, and just plain lovely to view. I want to speak about my relationship with Fiona. Fiona has come to view my work and has been supportive of what I do and supportive of who I am. She has touched me with her love and she has shared her concern and her compassion with me. I don't know what more anyone can ask of anyone else. I didn't have to ask her for anything - she just came to me when I needed her in my life and she has given of herself to me. I am blessed to have Fiona in my life and I am grateful that a woman of her photgraphic skills and artistry has found the time to view my work and to appreciate what I do here. Fiona's photostream on Flickr is something I keep coming back to, even on my travels while I am struggling to find wifi wherever I am. She is a photographer in the pure sense, she has en eye that sees differently, an eye that takes in the world she inhabits and then tries to convey a sense of it to anyone who wishes for glimpses into a unique place via a unique vision. It's so refreshing to see someone with talent express themselves this way, over and above gear heads who have all the right technical equipment, but not the eye or the heart for a shot. But most of all, she is genuine, kind and a warm person to boot. It's hard to find sincerity online, and there's no pleasure in reading pro forma replies from people who reciprocate for the sake of reciprocity. Fiona has a good heart, and I do treasure very much our friendship in Flickr land. She sticks by you, and makes much effort doing so. Thank you Fiona :) P.S. I don’t know Fiona but I added her as one of my very first contacts once I joined Flickr. There are many photographers in Flickr, some are extraordinarily talented and Fiona certainly has talent and skills as an artist and photographer. Yet what attracts me to her work is the rare ability to see, the depth of her “seeing,” the rare quality of “being here and now” unfiltered to the moment of direct perception. I see the clouds, the hills, the paths she walks, at times in what seems a deep solitude, head down, wool cap on or hair tied in a pony tail, looking ahead at the path she treads. There is filtered sunlight through the clouds, clouds that blanket the land and make her world. There are children and animals, and old gnarled trees, water reflections, all witnesses to an ancient land, a land filled with mysteries and legends and reflecting Fiona’s inner world and vision. There is a perfect match of her world, what she experiences as outside reality, and how she interprets what she perceives and then infuses into her images as they unfold to become works of art into themselves. The world is never old with her or maybe it is born again and again as she walks those paths, as she looks to what should be familiar and yet at every single moment new, alive through her eyes and camera. She simply can see and through her we can catch a glimpse of what really matters both in life and in art, perhaps both one and the same.
