In 1924 Joseph Allnatt, a visionary and entrepreneur, founded the first School Journey Centre in the country. Since that time this privately owned organisation has hosted schoolchildren, youth groups and students from Overseas on a diverse range of professional and educational programmes; Field Studies, Outdoor Adventurous Activities, Environmental Education, Teambuilding and Creative Arts.

As Founder members of the BAHA and with senior management involved in the Institute for Outdoor Learning, we are always mindful of safety and quality teaching whilst constantly reviewing and developing best practice and innovative courses. Our venues are always in areas of particular environmental interest.

We are currently specialising in coasts, the seashore, tourism and outdoor adventurous activities. During the school holidays our venues are much sought after for a range of group travel initiatives. The Chatsworth is in an unbeatable location on the Dorset Jurassic Coast whilst East Dene is such an inspiring Victorian Mansion it has become a hugely popular wedding venue too.
