Full time Lab tech and part time photographer. I got into photography in 2013 when a Dr friend of mine asked me to go "birding" with him. I cynically laughed and said "Doc, I'm the kind of guy who shoots birds. Not the kind who takes pictures of them.". His reply was " I think you'll find it more challenging than you think." and that intrigued me so I went. He was right. I liken bird photography to a cross between hunting and some sort of collecting (like baseball cards). You have to get the shot right and you are always searching for rarer birds and better photos even if you've got a great photo of the same bird already. I've been hooked every since even broadening my photography skills to include landscapes, portraiture and Photoshop compositing techniques like "grunge photography". Photography has really become a passion for me largely because of the challenge. I hope that those that get a chance to see my photos find as much joy in viewing them as I did in capturing them.
