Born and raised in the Midwest, I now enjoy the energy and quality of life that Miami has to offer. Professionally, I use traditional architecture and principles of the New Urbanism in my consulting work at Garcia Design Studio. Based on careful research, I design each project within the context of the local architectural language, distinct culture, and regional settlement patterns. Traveling has taught me to immerse myself into each place’s history, culture, traditions, and how they contribute to the range of urbanism and local vernacular. My daily bicycle commutes reinforce my belief in nurturing a living urbanism with livable streets.
