Hello, my name is Kevin. I am an honors graduate of Henry Ford College in Dearborn, Michigan with a major in Telecommunications. With this degree, as well as my interest in local history from the 1980s onward, I produced and hosted one season of a history show on public access television in 1995, but at the time I did not think there were many people interested in the same topics. I was brought back into the historical loop by a Facebook group in 2011, and would then develop this collection of photos starting in 2013. A website would follow by 2014. All researched material and photos encompass what is called the 'Downriver' area of metropolitan Detroit: the southern suburbs, which consist of 18 separate communities and townships, with history dating back to 1701. I lived Downriver for nearly forty years and I do believe this area, with its blue-collar history, deserves to have its story told.
