Sean Mayer is the Principal and Founder of Legacy Real Estate Ventures, LLC, a private real estate company headquartered in San Diego, California. Mr. Mayer was born in Los Angeles and spent much of his childhood honing his entrepreneurial spirit. Before the age of 15, he built and sold two Internet auction houses to a subsidiary of EBay, which fueled his entrepreneurial passion.

Shortly thereafter, Mr. Mayer followed the family footsteps into the realm of real estate development. His prior experiences at both Forest City and Shea Properties allotted him a wealth of knowledge in both institutional development and capital markets. Mr. Mayer enhanced three generations of real estate DNA as the Founder of Legacy Real Estate Ventures, LLC, which serves as the investment advisory arm of the Mayer Family Office.

The success of Legacy Real Estate Ventures, LLC is a testament to the entrepreneurial fervor embodied by Mr. Mayer’s business philosophies. Since the inception of the investment arm in 2009, Legacy Real Estate Ventures, LLC has purchased and disposed of over $1,500,000,000 of single-family residential assets across all residential “food groups”.

Mr. Mayer graduated Cum Laude from the University of California San Diego with a Bachelor of Science in Urban Studies and Planning. Shortly thereafter, he graduated with distinction from the University of San Diego with a Master’s in Real Estate Science.

Mr. Mayer is an active member in the San Diego scholastic and philanthropic community. He participates in the University of San Diego’s Real Estate Mentorship Program and leads the University of California San Diego Real Estate Alliance Alumni Board. Mr. Mayer is involved in numerous Southern California charities, including San Diego Boy’s and Girls Club, Young Executive Society, Circle of Care Burn Foundation, Alzheimer’s Association, and the San Diego Domestic Violence Council.
