I believe that I have developed and improved my creative skills in all areas over the past few years. I am always considering different mediums in design. Architecture has always been a huge interest of mine, since I was younger I have aspired to be an Architect. With most of my work I am very technical, I like everything to be neat and in place however when I am asked for a project I will leave my comfort zone to try and improve in certain areas. The reason behind why I wanted to study Architecture at university and gain my degree is because it is my dream job, to see myself as an architect. I have been interested in smart, bold and modern designs. Although I am more intrigued in the design aspect of architecture I also wanted to get a taste of the technical side before I started university. I therefore enrolled onto a City and Guilds course in Computer Aided Design. This means I have committed myself to extra curriculum activity to enhance my skills. I have many Architects I am fond of; however one of my favourites is Nigel Coates. Reason being that he is also a well known Artist which interests me because this is what I aspire to be. When looking at his Artwork and the structures that he has designed, I can see a huge similarity within both. This is the style of architect I aspire to be, one who can blend both art and architecture to create functioning structures that are also aesthetically pleasing. I believe my technical style of work and work ethos will work to my advantage and I believe by having the opportunity to study at Kingston University, I will finally be able to study architecture to the highest level.
