I am an architect living in Bath (UK) and have been obsessed with photography since learning to use the darkroom at college 35 years ago. I have exhibited pictures at the Royal West of England Accademy and in 2012 had my first personal exhibition as part of the Bristol Festival of Photography.

In my photography I tend to aim for abstraction and simplicity. I like form, tone and texture and try to capture emotion and the sense of place these elements convey. For me a big part of this approach has been working in black and white, and this tends to be my default setting for most pictures I make.

Up until a few years ago I still photographed mostly using film cameras, 35mm and medium format, I found the complexity of digital cameras distracting. Recently however a few camera makers have started to simplify thier designs and provide cameras with simpler manual controls and this has finally converted me wholly over to digital.
