On May 6, 2010, I've joined the ranks of retirement. I hope to have more time to spend on photography and traveling to places known and unknown with my camera. Time will tell how the next chapter of my life will be written........

An animal lover since childhood......

I own a Nikon N60 35mm film camera, with a 70-300mm zoom lens. I have resisted going digital for quite some time. In June 2008 I purchased a Canon Power Shot to tempt myself into going DLSR. Well, on New Years Day 2009, I caved and purchased a Nikon D90. So far I am loving it but have a lot to learn. Stay tuned.......

My favorite photo subjects are animals so I love to visit zoos, wildlife parks and sanctuaries. HOWEVER, I love shooting sunsets, old structures and scenic views whether it be beaches, mountains, woodland, etc. So pretty much everything that "catches my eye".

I am by no means a pro, but photography has been a hobby for many years - I inherited the passion from my dad.

My favorite part of a photo, when I am being serious, is composition. I also like to take fun shots which may not be of good quality, but If I can make someone smile with them then I will post away. I get a giggle when people "see" what I see in my photos. It's all about sharing.

I am passionate about conservation of all things on the planet and am trying to save the world :-) You know what I mean.....

I was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, lived in Clearwater, Florida from 1983-1994, and now make my home in Illinois once again about 65 miles southwest of Chicago. I live in a rural area and LOVE the wildlife I see in my own backyard.
