I am a photography amateur, enjoying creating photos now and then. I have only recently picked up photography.

I am new to flickr, so I am just figuring it out.

Just posted my first themed set of photos, taken on a vacation in Mauritius.

None of my shots are HDR images or photoshopped or selectively edited in any way, except for cropping, of course. Just simple shooting, transformed to JPEG using a Raw converter. I use a circular polarizing filter on many shots, which basically filters out a portion of the reflected sunlight, and may alter the look of the scene compared to how it would appear to the naked eye. As for software, I use DXO Optics Pro for the whole workflow from the Raw files to the final JPEG. I use it for cropping, and whole-image transformations like correcting lens distortions and chroma, correcting horizon tilt, pushing up harsh shadows (which occasionally may give an appearance a bit like a HDR image, which it is not), aggravating shadows for greater effect, adding contrast, adjusting exposure, and occasionally adding or removing a bit of color vibrancy and/or saturation. I am not categorically opposed to selective edits, but just in case you are wondering how I create my photos, this is how I do. I rarely do black and white photos, but if I do, they are created from color photos using DXO Optics Pro, too.

I love getting feedback, so feel free to contact me, or comment on my photos. It would be nice if you did not post flashing or otherwise annoying graphics into the comments though.

I expect to post photos in batches, infrequently. I am mostly interested in landscapes, portraits, and vegan food photos, but generally enjoy photos across various genres.
