“For me, a landscape does not exist in its own right, since its appearance changes at every moment; but the surrounding atmosphere brings it to life - the light and the air which vary continually. For me, it is only the surrounding atmosphere which gives subjects their true value.”

-Claude Monet

"The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed."

- Albert Einstein

I have been a member of Flickr for nearly a year now and have looked at hundreds of Photostreams and thousands of photos. A few weeks back I stumbled across Robert Thomson's stream and was instantly captivated. As I clicked on shot after shot to view his work, I was amazed at the consistency of the quality of photographic composition and technique in each and every post. Whether it is a Still Life or a Landscape, or colour versus monochrome, the care and effort that he obviously puts into each photograph is readily apparent. As well, his utilization of HDR is understated yet effective and appropriate. I invite and encourage you to take a few minutes and peruse his stunning Photostream. It will have been time well spent.
