I don't claim to be a good photographer, far from it, but my advice is to get out there and do it, take lots of photos, take bad photos, take great photos. If you think it may be no good take it anyway.

You just may surprise yourself.

It's been years since I created this profile and wrote the above note. Since then I've built up a nice little kit consisting of:

5DMK2

50 1.2L

85 1.2L

70-200 2.8L

16-35 2.8LII

100 2.8 macro

Pocket wizard multimax x 4

5 strobes (580exII)

lastolite ezybox

2 x umbrellas

5 in 1 reflector

Epson P-7000 Media drive

Canon G10

seikonic 748DR light meter

Billingham bag

new mortgage!

This really is an expensive hobby. And I still don't call myself a photographer........

Update on the kit. Sold all the canon gear, bought a leica M9, sold the M9 after 4 months when I got the film bug and now I have a Leica MP, Hasselblad 500cm, Hasselblad H1, Nikon FM2. Only digital camera I have is my iphone.

If you've never tried a film body I suggest you try it! There is nothing like developing your shots at home. So organic, tangible, it's brilliant.
