I am a retired civil servant. I grew up in the railway centre of the North East, Shildon. Our house was in easy walking or biking distance of the sidings. Most of my earlier pictures are of Shildon and the surrounding area starting in the late 50s using my dad's box camera until I managed to drop it.

I eventually decided to go digital in 2010 but most of the pictures here are from film starting with a Petri compact in 1975 and then a Yashica TL Electro and Pentax ME after trying a Zenit E which fell apart after 9 months just within the warranty. As of September 2016, I have run out of worthwhile pictures to scan and unable to travel the distances I used to. Any pictures in 2018 depend on hospital trips unfortunately.
