74 years old, English, trained as a Psychologist but took up semi-pro photography after developing an eye problem. My main areas were child photography, portraits, and weddings. Slowly uploading some of my better pictures after scanning around 12000 negatives to digital format. Some of the negatives scan well, but a few show excessive grain and muted colours, so I have been working out a way of getting sharper images from them, usually involving denoising and editing in MedImpression2, then using PhotoFilter's clever Sharpen/Reinforce program, which really brings a dull image to life.
No longer have the chance to photograph some of the lovely Greek islands I have been lucky enough to visit in the past, but I still enjoy looking at them. I never tire of looking at other people's photos and some of those on Flickr are just superb. Now retired, with wife and hyperactive ShiTzu/Lhasa Apso puppy.
Devoted to film for many years, I eventually retired my old Pentax SP500 in 2010, and now use a slower but more sophisticated Pentax X-5, and a lovely old Kodak EasyShare that still delivers splendid images.
When I have finished uploading my best images and reach the 1000 limit, I shall probably leave things as they are and make no further changes to my stream. I doubt that I will manage to keep up with the output of those whom I now follow, and in any case Flickr is no longer letting me view their new uploads, so I wish everyone well and thank you for your kind support.

Great gallery. I am also 70, and your fate is close to me. In 2019, I underwent surgery on both eyes so that I could do photography. I am not a professional, I retired 10 years ago and bought a Pentax K5. I still travel the world and hope for the best in my life. I wish you, your wife and deranged Shorki health and creative success to you. P.S Sorry for my English. I do not write long speeches, but I write to you.
