I'm not really a 'photographer'. I just use a camera as a visual notebook to record what I've seen and where I've been - and I've been doing so since 1971. That said, I'm pretty fussy about my pictures. They have to be sharp, correctly framed, focussed and exposed....some other contributers to flickr please note....

My pictures are copyright, but I am happy to consider the matter if anyone wishes to use any of them for any reasonable purpose. Please ask me and I will normally try to assist. The only time I have ever refused permission was when a commercial publisher wanted to use some in a book but wouldn't consider any form of payment, not even a copy of the book!

If somebody faves one of my pictures or leaves a comment I will normally look at their photostream, just to get an idea of who they are, what sort of pictures they take and what their interests are. A depressing number of times there aren't any pictures to look at. If a person comments on one of my pictures, but have no public pictures visible themselves, they may find that they have been blocked, depending on the contents of that comment.
